Whilst studying for my Degree and CA qualification, I worked concurrently in Accounting and Finance. Initially, I got into it because I witnessed first-hand the impact a bad accountant can have on a business and its owner.

I wanted to be different. I wanted to be the sort of accountant that tells you exactly how it is – no gimmicks, no hiding behind reports or business politics, just facts about where your business is at and what you need to do to change things for the better. I didn’t want to be the accountant that just tells you your financial results at a point in time. I wanted to be the accountant that looks forward and works with you to get you to where you want to be.

Growing up, I also loved sports and took a particular interest in Pilates. I became a qualified Pilates Instructor and started my own Pilates studio. It wasn’t until I was running the business, doing the socials, doing the sales, doing the accounting all at the same time that I really understood the issue business owners faced. They’re all wearing different hats when they should really be focusing on wearing one hat – the “CEO” hat.

Bring in Ex Ante Financial. I decided to build an external finance department to help entrepreneurs and CEOs understand their books, increase their profits and make informed decisions that propel them forward.
